Make 2011 INSANE BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eyes Open

am currently working on becoming a personal trainer and I thought I was pretty tough and durable. Then I met Sensei Kellys class. Yeah, I see things a little differently now.

I am currently testing for my Orange Belt and I think back on how this all started with a free mothers day card. One of the best moments was having my six year old come watch me receive my BBC bag and told me he was proud of me and I did great in class. That was unapproachable. He will be reaching BBC on December 18th himself. A new journey that we get to embark on together.

I am learning patience and its not coming easy. I am learning that this (as well as life) is not a race, but a marathon. One that will take me the rest of my life as long as I allow it.  I want this to be the time where I see what I am really made of and not give in to what is easy or give up when things don’t go my way. To really see this though all the way. To aim for place where it is all just right, nothing is ever perfect there is always something to fix. But I am seeing improvement, not just because of practice, but because of time and consistency.

My eyes are opening………

Accountability… Mine = Martial Arts!!!

Good morning,

I know I have been away and for this I am so very sorry. I have been really trying to push through my classes to get my trainers certification by February.  Of course the holidays are not making things much easier.  I can say however, that I am doing pretty good on keeping the sweets under control. I am not hovering over the plate and devouring everything in sight because I can or with the thought that I will work it off later.  The thing about it is is that I am not supposed to have it in large quantities. No one really is but it fires up my reflux really badly and I feel like I have a chemical landslide in my esophagus. Meat however, just stops the whole system dead which is the reason I have become vegetarian. I thought I was nuts, but the doctor said it can definitely be a major cause and if I feel better not eating it, then don’t. Yeah, so simple. That simplicity works and I am not medicated, poked or prodded by tests. The only time you see my take something is because I ate something I was not supposed to .

On another note; I am sitting here working to become a personal trainer and wanting one myself. I thought that was odd at first, I should be able to kick my own butt right??  Well I can, but I find that when you are accountable to someone else right then and there  you have this insane idea you cannot let them down and you go till they say stop. This is becoming a reason I love it when my Sensei adds workout moves to her classes or make the whole class a cardio nightmare. I look up to her and I will do my best to not quit while she is watching. I am also finding that I am seeing that in other aspects of what I do outside of the Dojo. I don’t want to do something that will make them look bad and I want to give back everything they give me. I want to use what I am taught in all aspects of my life. Something is finally making me accountable. As a parent and wife I am responsible for them, but I needed to be accountable for me and my actions and reactions. My oldest son is now in the intermediate karate classes and is so excited. He is learning so much. If I ask him to apply what he learns there, then I have to do the same. We have a card that we use to write down things we did without being told to, or in my case a way to give myself a pat on the back for things I don’t always give me credit for. It works well.  If you are struggling with something and even if you are not and just feel things are “going” but not going “great”, find that someone. It can be anyone you trust or someone you admire. A new person who doesn’t know all you mess ups, you can start fresh with. Make yourself a book…write in it daily (like a diary) what you did great that day. Then share it with some one. It can be something as small as doing a chore you dreaded or making someone smile. Its a simple way to tell your self good job!!

Only you can change you. Only you can make you better. These people can’t do it for you, you have to want it. I mean REALLY want it, deep in side. You may not have all the answers, you may not know the questions to ask, to make that step. Let these people be who you lean on and sound silly in front of. They are not here to judge but to help.  I am here for any one who wants it. I know what that support can do!!  It can help you conquer mountains!!!!

Have a blessed day and a wonderful holiday season.

These White Chocolate Candy Cane Oreo balls are deadly.  They are NOT healthy but irresistable.  If you want to bring coworkers a treat to die for, make these!  I posted them last year and they were one of the most popular blogs of the year.  I decided to change the recipe a little bit this year by using white chocolate chips and candy candy Joe-Joes (Trader Joe’s version of Oreos) and here is how I made them perfect this time around!
Serves 20 (makes a ton)| Hands-On Time: 35m
Ingredients
1 box of Candy Cane Joe Joes or Peppermint Oreos
8 ounces reduced fat cream cheese, at room temperature
10 oz bag of white chocolate chips (you mind need a little extra or use semi sweet chocolate for variety which is what I did here)
Optional sprinkles, extra Oreo crumbs or candy cane pieces for decoration on top
Directions
In a food processor, grind up oreos until a fine consistency throughout.
In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese and oreo crumbs with your hands, kneeding until it becomes a dough like consistency.
Line a cookie with wax paper.  Form small 1/2 inch balls with the dough and either put in fridge to harden or move onto step 4.  It doesn’t really matter to be honest.
On low, heat up the chocolate in a small sauce pan, stirring consistently until it’s a smooth mixture.  You can use a microwave as well.
Using two forks or spoons, drop one ball in at a time and coat with white chocolate mixture.  Transfer to wax paper and let stand for 1 hour or until chocolate is hard.  Store in the refrigerator.

Great morning to you!

Good morning wonderful friends,

This one is going to be kinda short.  Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is on this great November morning. Today is my oldest son Jaxons birthday and he had reached the big 6. Its is also my dads birhtday and I would like to wish them both a great day!!

I think I am gonna make the treadmill hard and quick today. I need something but I need to clean a few things in the house and I am thinking I would like to sit and work on my writing while the little one takes a nap. How great that would be. I haven’t had the chance to pick it up in a while. One day I will get this book finished.

Hope you have a great day and I amy check in with you all later.
